We have recently developed a training program as part of Community Works

This training program is based on our extensive experience and we we have worked to develop a range of courses for a wide variety of people who work with communities e.g. those in local authorities, housing associations, health and the voluntary sector. These were initially developed with the Community Development Foundation and are now being delivered by Community Works Training

We will be running the following courses:

Evaluating Community Development and Measuring Change

Will help participants develop a clear understanding of community based evaluation and provide some practical tools to strategically plan and evaluate.
Aimed at people who work with community groups, projects or programmes

Other Courses We Deliver:

An Introduction to Community Development

Looks at the values and principles that underpin good community development, and provides an opportunity to explore and reflect on practice and the impact it has on communities.
Aimed at those who are just starting out in community based work and / or are looking to incorporate community development processes into other roles.

How to engage with Communities

Designed for community engagement practitioners who want to use creative methods of engagement and facilitate community led development.
Aimed at people in a variety of roles that require facilitation and engagement skills and methods

Identifying your Community’s Strengths with Mapping and Profiling

Will help deepen the understanding of a local area and identify the strengths and assets that will enable the delivery of positive change.
Aimed at people working in and with communities who want to learn about asset based approaches to mapping and profiling as a tool for informing and generating community action.

Community Development for Experienced Practitioners

An opportunity to deepen your understanding of what you do, why you do it and how you do it. This course links theory and practice and provides an opportunity to reflect on your role and community outcomes.
Aimed at those with experience in a community development role.

Working in Partnership to create Sustainable Community Projects

Explores the secrets of successful partnerships and how to develop and deliver sustainable community projects.
Aimed at people working and in, and involved in developing projects in partnership between, public agencies, communities and private businesses.

Currently all courses are CPD accredited apart from Community Development for Experienced Practitioners.

 

Costs:

The costs of attending per course, including refreshments and lunch are:
£150 (+VAT) per person where one participant from a group/organisation
Discounts are available more than one person is attending from the same organisation
