Community Development and Engagement
Getting the community involved in changes that affect their future plays a large role in the projects that WSA is involved in. The following projects in particular highlight how working with communities and either empowering residents or representing their views leads to change.
Measuring Change
Local Trust
WSA Community has been commissioned by Local Trust to plan and facilitate four workshops for Big Local areas on Measuring Change.
Capacity Building Support
Wick Award Partnership
WSA Community Consultants is working with Wick Award Partnership as it looks to provide targeted and bespoke support to help local groups in Hackney Wick to build their capacity and sustainability. Some of the groups have received Wick Award Community Chest funding in the past.
InterAct Programme
Clarion Futures
Working together with Mandy Wilson, WSA has been providing support for 12 community groups across England that are taking on the running of community assets from housing association Clarion.
Active Communities Programme
People’s Health Trust
In 2018, we once again worked with the People’s Health Trust, in partnership with Sian Penner Associates, to provide development support.
Supporting Big Local Areas and Learning Across London
Local Trust
Wendy has been working to support Big Local areas since August 2011. This has included working as a Rep – offering advice and support, planning and facilitating learning events, and being an assessor for Local Trusts – as well as being directly commissioned to support areas in delivering aspects of their plans.
